DIY Herbal Infused Honey Facewash

Try this DIY herbal honey facewash at home.

I've been slowly transitioning my skincare products to more all-natural products. Don't get me wrong, the facewash I've been using works beautifully, but I had to ask myself, can I find a safer, chemical-free, affordable product? Now keep in mind I said slowly. My first transition was a natural deodorant. TOMs is very good if you're just starting off. I haven't quite moved to DIY deodorant, but it's coming soon.

Now I figured why not try a cleanser? After researching and having many trials and errors, I finally found the perfect cleanser that's gentle on the skin.

Honey is rich in enzymes, stimulates cell and collagen production, is anti-inflammatory, lightens dark spots, and hydrates skin. Infusing honey with herbs is a great way to get healing properties and benefits. They help regenerate skin tissue and prevent cell damage. It also helps smooths wrinkle lines and aging skin. Umm win-win!

So my choice of herb is dried rose petals. It's great for acne-prone skin.

Let's get on with the ingredients.

#1 - Ingredients

  • Raw Honey (squeeze bottle would be much easier)

  • Herbs of your choice ( do your research to see how you can benefit from it according to your skin type)

  • Glass container

Directions:

  1. Add 1/4 cup of dried rose petals to the container

  2. Pour 1 cup of honey into the container fully covering the rose petals

  3. Date the container

  4. Flip every day for 4 weeks before using

  5. After 4 weeks, strain the rose petals and store the honey

Tip

Dampen face with water. Not too much water, you don't want the honey to slide off. I find it easier to apply the honey on a slightly damp face/skin. Let sit for 10 - 15 minutes. Rinse and enjoy your fresh skin.

I challenge you to try this for 2 weeks and come back with results. Tag me on Instagram. I would like to see and hear how the honey wash helps you.
